The ARP Table Scanner discovery scans the ARP tables of SNMP enabled devices.

 

 

This discovery extracts data from the ARP tables on your network devices. The IP and MAC address pairs are stored in the Global ARP Table, which can be searched via the search box above the data grid. You need to define the correct SNMP Agent Ranges for your network,  by clicking the SNMP Agent Ranges link.

 

The ARP Table Scanner discovery is generally in conjunction with the Only run if... host discovery setting. This setting allows you to only run the discovery if the host is labelled as being a router.
