To view the database default table structure, click the 'Tables' tab:
The table whose fields are displayed can be changed via the "Table name" drop down box.
Table fields can be modified here to reflect your company's own administrative and reporting needs.

By default, only the fields that are visible to the user are displayed. To display all table fields, check the "Show hidden fields" check box.
Add Field/Alter field size/Delete field
Up to 255 fields in total can be added to a table. Custom fields may be defined to meet the unique needs of your organisation.
User defined fields can be added to the both the Subnet and Address tables.
Clicking Add Field will display the Add field dialog box.

The Field Size property is only displayed for Text fields.
When editing a field, only the Field Size can be changed and it can only be changed to a value greater than the current size. This is a limitation imposed by the underlying database.
To remove a field from the database, select it and click Delete Field.
Unlike previous versions of Easy-IP field changes do not take immediate effect. Instead the changes are added to a list of changes that will take effect the next time the Easy-IP Server is restarted.

This has several advantages:
| 1. | You can add and edit fields with users still connected to the Easy-IP Server. |
| 2. | You can 'undo' changes in the list until the server is restarted. |
| 3. | The changes can be made when the least number of users will be affected. |
Once you are happy with your changes you can restart the server. This can be done immediately, by clicking the restart the server now link or by scheduling the server to restart at a convenient time.
|
In previous versions of Easy-IP the Default Value setting was found in this dialog. It can now be found in the Field Properties dialog. |
Selecting a field and clicking Edit field properties will display the field propertied dialog.
